شَجَرَة Shajarah Labs

shajarah · a tree · Ibrāhīm 14:24

The Quran in daily life. Then in the home. Then in the family.

I The seed

It begins with one word.

Every tree begins as a seed. Ours is a single word of the Quran, understood. Then another tomorrow. Then a family that understands what it recites.

We build the tools that carry that word from a phone, into a home, and across generations. Each one is complete on its own. Together they are something more.

II Learn · Masar Quran

Masar Quran builds the habit. Free, for everyone.

Masār means a path. Learn the meaning of every word of the Quran, one word at a time, with short daily reviews built on how memory works. Every word sourced, never generated.

III Live · Bayti One

Bayti One brings it home.

A calm, beautiful screen for the Muslim home. Prayer times with adhan and iqamah, the Quran, hadith, duas and adhkar, the Hijri calendar and the Qibla, in eight languages.

No camera. No microphone. No ads. No account required. It works on its own, and becomes something more when your family joins.

The living room, remembering.

The word your family is learning. Who has reviewed today. The khatm, filling juz by juz. Prayer, always first.

    IV Connect · One Home

    Two products. One Home.

One optional Home account joins them. Each person learns on their own phone; Bayti One shows what the family achieved together. A parent sees a child's progress in the living room. The word of the day comes from words the family is actually learning.

Names, progress, Home names, khatm details: everything a family enters is sealed on your device before it leaves. Keys live only on your phones and your Bayti One. We cannot read it. Nobody we could be asked to share it with can either.

    • Sign in with an email code. We never store a password.
    • No Google or Apple services. No analytics. No ad IDs.
    • Prayer times are calculated on the device. No location on our servers.
    • Lose every device and your recovery code, and the data is gone. We say so plainly.

    V Together · Ramadan

    Thirty parts. One family.

In Ramadan, everyone reads on their own phone, in their own time. Bayti One shows the family khatm filling, juz by juz.

    0of 30 juz

It celebrates what was done, and never singles out who did not. Streaks and points are not evidence of learning. Understanding is.

    VI Sustain · The circle

Every Bayti One sold keeps Masar Quran free.

Masar Quran builds the habit for free, worldwide. Bayti One brings that habit into the home, and pays for it. Each makes the other more valuable.

Ibrāhīm 14:24, words 7 to 15 · word by word, as you would learn it in Masar Quran

What the name asks of us

    From one word, a tree.

    أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ

    its root (is) firm

    The root is understanding.

Masar Quran plants one word at a time, in one heart at a time. Every meaning is sourced, never guessed, so the root can bear weight.

    وَفَرْعُهَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ

and its branches (are) in the sky

    The branches are the home.

Bayti One and one private Home carry that word upward and outward: into the living room, to parents and children, to grandparents in another city.

    تُؤْتِىٓ أُكُلَهَا كُلَّ حِينٍۭ

    giving its fruit all time

The fruit is for every season.

A word a day. A khatm every Ramadan. And a free app kept free by every Bayti One, for every next learner: a sadaqah jariyah that keeps giving.

    Why we are called Shajarah

    أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًا كَلِمَةً طَيِّبَةً كَشَجَرَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَفَرْعُهَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ ﴿٢٤﴾ تُؤْتِىٓ أُكُلَهَا كُلَّ حِينٍۭ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهَا…

“Have you not considered how Allah presents an example, [making] a good word like a good tree, whose root is firmly fixed and its branches [high] in the sky? It produces its fruit all the time, by permission of its Lord.”

Ibrāhīm 14:24 and 14:25 (part) · Saheeh International

A word, understood, takes root in a heart. A heart grows a home. A home, a family. That is the tree we are planting, by the permission of its Lord.

Our reflection on our name, not a tafsir.

    Questions

    Asked plainly.

    What is Shajarah Labs?

The company behind Masar Quran and Bayti One. We make tools that help Muslim families understand the Quran and live with it at home.

    Is Masar Quran really free?

Yes, forever: no ads, no trackers and no fees. It is open source under GPL v3 and intended as a sadaqah jariyah. Sales of Bayti One are what keep it free.

    How do the products connect?

Through one optional Home account. Each person learns on their own phone, and Bayti One shows what the family has done together: the word of the day, who reviewed today, and the family khatm. Each product works fully without it.

Can you read my family's data?

No. Everything a family enters is encrypted on their own devices before it leaves, and our servers hold only ciphertext. The other side of that promise: if you lose every device and your recovery code, we cannot get the data back.

Where do the Quran text and meanings come from?

The Arabic is Tanzil Uthmani 1.0.2. Word meanings come from Quran.com's word-by-word set, roots and word counts from the Quranic Arabic Corpus, and ayah translations from Saheeh International. Nothing is generated.

When can I get Bayti One?

We are working towards Ramadan 2027, in shā' Allāh, starting in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. The waitlist opens soon.

    How are children protected?

Children under 13 have no login and no email. Their profiles belong to the Home, and only guardians manage them. Bayti One has no camera and no microphone.
